Upcoming Special Events Include Riverfront Nights, Summerween, Triathlon, Sip N Que

The free concert series Riverfront Nights, held at 100 Riverfront Parkway/Ross’s Landing each year, will begin On July 15.  Executive Director of Friends of the Festival Mickey McCamish applied for and received a permit to sell beer at the concerts that will be held on Saturday evenings from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

This will be the 17th year of this series of seven concerts. This year they will be held July 15, 22 and 29 and will continue on Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26.

Executive Director of Soundcorps, a nonprofit organization with the goal to promote the music industry in Chattanooga, will be holding the free event “Summerween,” on June 24 from 6-10 p.m. at Patten Square, 818 Georgia Ave.

That night there will be trick-or-treating and a costume contest for both children and adults.  In addition to live music there will be food and beverages available for purchase and vintage and eclectic vendors. Security guards will be present and licensed bartenders will be checking IDs before making a beer sale.

“2023 Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon,” sponsored by the Chattanooga Track Club, will be on Sunday, June 25, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Ross’s Landing, 100 Riverfront Parkway.

The downstream swim in the Tennessee River, bike course and run along the Riverwalk will be for athletes of all abilities. Melanie Krautstrunk with Hutten & Smith Brewing Co. will be in charge of  beer sales that day. IDs will be checked before issuing wrist bands to those buying beer. The Chattanooga Police Department will provide security.

The Chattanooga Breakfast Rotary Club will be holding its annual fundraiser on July 8 from 3-9 p.m. The name of the event this year is Chattanooga Sip N Que. It will be held at First Horizon Pavilion, 1826 Reggie White Blvd.

There will be a Bar B Que competition and samples of beer, wine and whisky. There are multiple options for tickets that will buy various combinations of small samples of the beverages and food. There will also be food trucks available.
