Several Morning Pointe Senior Living communities in the Chattanooga area are now collecting school supplies for The Samaritan Center in Ooltewah.

The back-to-school drive runs now through Aug. 17.

Each building has a dedicated drop-off barrel inside for donations to support the non-profit’s Stock Their Locker program.

Supplies needed include traditional items like paper, pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks, backpacks, highlighters and rulers, but also school clothing items such as socks and underwear.
This year, The Samaritan Center also has an Amazon Wish List here.

“Back-to-school is our community focus at all of Morning Pointe’s communities for the month of August, and what better way to honor the theme than to give back?” said Amanda Yelenick, Morning Pointe’s vice president of life enrichment. “We are excited to partner once again with The Samaritan Center locally to help benefit families and children in need.”

Greg Vital, Morning Pointe president and co-founder, added, “Morning Pointe Senior Living has a long history of giving back to the community. We believe in making a difference, and the back-to-school drives are just one more way we can continue to make an impact in the communities we serve. It is wonderful to see our residents, families, associates and volunteers coming together for a worthy cause, and The Samaritan Center is such a great organization to support. We were glad to participate in Stock Their Lockers last year, and this year we can’t wait to contribute again.”

Morning Pointe locations serving as drop-off sites include:
- Morning Pointe of Chattanooga at Shallowford – 7719 Shallowford Road;
- The Lantern at Morning Pointe Chattanooga – 7620 Shallowford Road;
- Morning Pointe Senior Living Home Office – 6020 and 6085 Arbury Way in Cambridge Square,
