Clifford Gregory "Greg" Coggin, Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2023, at his home in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee.

Greg was born to Clifford Gregory Coggin, Sr. and Grace Evelyn Jones Coggin on April 3, 1942, in Sheffield, Alabama.

As a teenager, Greg excelled at scouting, earning the rank of Eagle Scout, and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Order of the Arrow. During the summers, Greg was a Water Safety and Canoeing Instructor at Camp Mack Morris. In addition, Greg was an avid reader and loved to travel. He shared his love for UT football (Go Vols!!) with his daughter, Jeanie, and shared his love of astronomical events with his daughter, Amy. His other passions included listening to NPR, reading the New York Times, solving the daily Wordle, and staying up to date on current events. Over the years, Greg and Ann owned many pets, all of which he loved dearly, especially their current fur baby, Buddy.

Greg was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Chattanooga and attended First-Centenary Methodist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Davidson, daughters Amy Coggin of Milton, Vermont and Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Jeanie (David) Ashley of Greensboro, Georgia, granddaughter, Celeste Drake of Chattanooga, brother, Pete Coggin (Kathy) of Columbia, Tennessee, sister-in-law, Sharon Coggin of Franklin, Tennessee, several nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins.
