Garry Lee Stonecipher, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away on September 19, 2023.

He was born in Morgan County, Tn. and grew up in Maryville, Tn. where he attended Porter High School. He met the love of his life, Patricia (Pat) while attending Tennessee Technological University. They enjoyed over 61 years together creating a beautiful life filled with family and friends.

Garry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara Stonecipher and his mother-in-law, Mary Coffey.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia Stonecipher, daughter Lisa Humphries (Ricky), son James Stonecipher (Cara), grandchildren Ryan Humphries, Raven Stonecipher, Calli Stonecipher (Ivy), Mary Elizabeth Johnson (Micah), Andrew Walker (Madi), and Brandon Humphries. His “brother by another mother”, John Hannah, also cherishes the memories they made together.

Garry and his family moved to Cleveland, Tn. in November of 1963 when he began work at American Uniform Company where he worked for 42 years. Garry volunteered his time with many organizations over the years including the AUCO Credit Union, Quality Control Board for Apparel Manufacturing, American Red Cross, Tennessee State Guard, and Bradley County Beer Board. He was also a member of Sons of the American Revolution, Sertoma Club, Royal Arch Masons of Tennessee and Masonic Lodge #134. Garry and his wife were charter members of Northside Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder.

A celebration of Garry’s life will be held at New Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 310 Murraytown Road, Cleveland, TN 37312 at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m.

The family requests memorials be made to Cub Scout Troop 1327, 310 New Murraytown Road, Cleveland, TN 37312.
