The Covenant College men's soccer team took their travels to Birmingham-Southern looking for their second straight win. With the help of two goals from Whitt Tisdale in his return from injury, Covenant earned a 3-1 victory.  Covenant improves to 5-3-3 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play.

Covenant was on the offensive attack early on as it had three corner kicks in the first seven minutes.  In the 19th minute, Knox Gibson gave the Scotst the lead after he found the end of a loose ball in the box.  Anderson Ivey had a shot on goal in the 34th minute, but it was placed right at the BSC's goalie.  Right before halftime, Tisdale doubled Covenant's lead with a headed shot after a well-placed cross from Fox Landgren.

At the intermission, the Scots had outshot the Panthers 9-4.

Shortly after the second half started, Kade Theunissen had a shot saved in the bottom left of the goal. Eli Honeycutt made a big save for the Scots in the 64th minute at the top left of the goal.
Tisdale scored his second goal, and Covenant's third in the 72nd minute as he beat the goalkeeper to a ball over the top from Daniel Wallis that led to a tap-in.
The Panthers scored a consolation goal in the 84th minute to get back within two.

Covenant had 18 shots with 10 on goal while BSC had 11 shots with five on goal.  The Scots had a significant advantage in corner kicks at 11-3.
Tisdale now leads the team with four goals on the year.

Covenant will be at Scotland Yard on Saturday at 7 p.m. for its Homecoming match against LaGrange.
