Fred Allan Smith, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. Fred retired from the Rock-Tenn Company after 30 years of service. After Fred retired he spent his time fishing and watching NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Fred and Anita Payne Smith; and his brother, Larry Smith.

Fred is survived by his wife, Aline Smith; three sons, Brian A. (Deborah) Smith, Ronnie L. (Lisa) Smith, and Bobby Joe Smith; several grandchildren, and great- grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon O’Conner, Teresa Alderman; two brothers, Harold Smith, and Vernon Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home at 1 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 2, with Dr. Thomas George officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday at North Chapel.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
