Mark William Hite, 58, prominent Chattanooga realtor with the Mark Hite Team of Real Estate Partners LLC died unexpectedly at his Key West condo on Monday, January 1, 2024.

Born July 31, 1965, in McCracken County, Kentucky, Mark has been a resident of Chattanooga for the last 30 years.

Drawing on a rich background in retail sales management across the southeastern US, Mark embarked on his real estate journey in 2002. From selling one home per week to now overseeing a powerhouse team, Mark’s leadership has resulted in double-digit annual sales growth and an astounding $116 million in cumulative sales for 2022 alone. Over 4,700 Chattanooga families have entrusted their real estate dreams to LOCAL Mark and his dedicated team. Guiding clients through seamless transactions, LOCAL Mark is known as your trusted partner for buying and selling property in the greater Chattanooga area.

Mark’s commitment extends beyond real estate as he actively engages with the local community. As a two-time President of the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors, he’s also actively serving on the board of directors for Chambliss Center for Children, CHI Memorial Foundation, Cempa Community Care, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga, and the Launch Pad. He has formerly served with the American Heart Association and The American Cancer Society where he was inducted in 2021 as the Hope Society Honoree.

Mark contributes over $200,000 annually to local nonprofits, embodying his ethos of kindness and community stewardship.

He received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Kentucky and was a member of the University of Kentucky Alumni and is a Kentucky Colonel which is the highest title of honor bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky in recognition of an individual’s noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to a community, state, and nation.

Mark was an active member and served as Lay Leader at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

His most favorite place in the world was Key West and his favorite color is Kentucky Blue and you could often find Mark dining at one of his favorite restaurants, The Big Chill, Scottie’s on the River or the Public House.

Mark was a powerhouse realtor with Real Estate Partners LLC and was so very proud of the accomplishments of the Mark Hite Realty Team which includes, Eric and Lizabeth Tidmore, Tricia Heider, Kelly Elmore, Jason Pryor-Carr, Jan Tiano, Bethany Moody, Chloe Tiano, Geno Petro, Stacey Barry, Becky Conner, Jessica Nowakowski, Beth (Kincade) Janis, Julie Wilkerson, Justin Blansit-Westmoreland, and Lacey Cordell.

Mark will forever be remembered as a true friend to those who had the honor of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Oneida Hite.

Mark is survived by his mother, Lois Jean Hite; brother, Todd Gregory (Kathleen) Hite; nephew, Kolby Warren (Mary Rose) Hite; niece, Kallie Marie Hite; his loving dog, Lilly; close family friends, Eric and Lizabeth Tickle Tidmore and their children, Tyler, Macy, and Emmy; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church (8645 E. Brainerd Road) with Pastor Eric Light officiating. Burial will be on Wednesday, Jan. 17, in Kentucky.

Representing the joy, happiness, and promise that Mark so dearly believed in and passed on to everyone that knew him, you are invited to wear your boldest and brightest colors to the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any of the local charities and nonprofits that Mark was so passionate about as well as St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
