The City of Chattanooga’s Neighborhood Services Division announces the launch of the FY 2026 Neighborhood Action Grant, a funding opportunity aimed at helping neighborhoods celebrate their identity, increase visibility and build community pride through creative branding projects.
Officials said, Registered Neighborhood Associations are invited to apply for funding to support visible, place-based elements that reflect the unique character and story of their communities. Eligible projects may include neighborhood sign toppers, banners, meeting signs and entryway markers.
These branding elements serve not only as tools for recognition, but also as symbols of unity and local pride."
Funding details:
• Up to $25,000 is available citywide;
• Individual grants of up to $1,500; and
• Funds can support projects like a full set of sign toppers, porch banners, yard signs or a small entryway marker.
Eligibility:
All Neighborhood Associations currently registered with the City of Chattanooga are eligible to apply. Neighborhood or homeowners groups that are unsure of their registration status are encouraged to contact the Neighborhood Services Division at neighborhoods@chattanooga.gov for assistance.
How to apply:
The application window runs from June 2-30. Applications can be submitted online, and paper applications are available upon request.
Applicants will be asked to provide:
• A two–three paragraph Neighborhood Story describing the community’s identity and needs;
• A brief Project Description outlining the requested branding elements;
• Three product quotes for transparency and cost accuracy; and
• A detailed project budget.

Grant workshop:
To support applicants, Neighborhood Services will host a public workshop on Thursday, June 5 from 5-7 p.m. at the Family Justice Center (5705 Uptain Road). Staff will be on hand to provide an overview of the grant, answer questions and help attendees complete their applications on-site.
Final reporting requirements:
Grant recipients will be required to submit a brief final report summarizing project outcomes, including the number of branding elements installed and the level of community engagement achieved.
