Jeffery Demond Davis
Deacon Jeffery Demond Davis was born on September 30, 1970, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to his parents, James Davis Sr. and Sharon Lloyd. Jeff departed this life on October 4, 2024, peacefully in the comfort of his home.
He was a 1988 graduate of Kirkman High School. Jeff was an active member of Destiny Church of Chattanooga, where he took under his wing his mentee, Darwin Randolph. He served on the Ministry Service Representative team, the co-leader of the Destiny Marriage Ministry. He was a member of the Men’s Connection Group and The Kings & Queens Couples Group. He later became an ordained Deacon. Jeff was employed by DB Schenker as a warehouse inbound lead supporting the Pandora Chattanooga location.
Among those who preceded Jeffery in death included his father, James O. Davis Jr.; mother, Sharon F. Lloyd; grandparents, Charles Lloyd, Charlsie Lloyd, James O Davis Sr., and Beatrice Davis.
Jeff had a love for sports with his favorite teams being Dallas Cowboys and Alabama Crimson Roll Tide. He was also known to his loved ones as the “Grill Master” because he enjoyed manning the grill as well as spending time with his family, golfing, or fishing. He would often retreat to his patio, simply just to enjoy the fresh air and Gods creation. On May 30, 2015, Jeff married the love of his life and best friend, Connie Davis, whom he affectionately called “Snookum”.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Connie Davis; son, Jarrett Davis; daughters, LaToya Lawrence and Uniesha (Jeremy) Cotton; four-grandchildren, McKenzye, Mason, Emery and Avery; sister, Renee (Arlandis) Ware; brothers, Jamel Davis (Patricia) of Chattanooga, James (Anita) Davis of Chatsworth, Ga., Antwane Davis of Cleveland, Tn.; great-aunt, Ernestine Commons; aunts, Hattie Lloyd Cooper, Dorothy Fleming, Carolyn Davis and Sharon Davis all of Chattanooga, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; devoted dear friends, Joe Brooks, Teddy Richardson, Ken Jackson, Christopher Halfacre, Augustus Shipp, Deacons Anzel Jones and Charles Meadows.
He will lie in state on Friday, Oct. 11, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Dr. Sheryl K. James as eulogist.
