Gary Lee Swanson, 79, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

He was born on Feb. 25, 1945, in Rugby, North Dakota, to the late Melvin and Lillian Swanson.

Gary and his spouse, Trudy Swanson, moved to Milwaukee, Wi., after finishing their education to pursue careers and start a family. In 1975, work brought them to Crystal Lake, Il., located northwest of Chicago. They raised their two sons in Crystal Lake until work required another relocation to Chattanooga in 1998.

Known for his loving and nurturing personality, Gary was a dedicated husband, father, and individual with a delightful sense of humor and drive. He cherished moments fishing with his sons, playing golf with friends, and embracing the pleasures of life.

Preceding him in death are his parents, one son named Blair Swanson, and a brother named Ken Swanson.

Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Trudy Swanson, one son named Bryce (Amber) Swanson, and three grandchildren: Bennett, Graham, and Reid Swanson.
