Gloria Ann Green
Gloria Ann Green went home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 7, 2024, peacefully while sleeping at her residence.
Gloria was born on Nov. 17, 1946, to Mr. Frank and Mrs. Annie Mae Green.
Gloria accepted Christ at an early age. Gloria attended and graduated from Howard High School. She worked many years at Dixie Yarns, Standard-Coosa-Thatcher Mills until it closed and Gordon’s Dry Cleaners until her health declined. She enjoyed working and traveling. She also enjoyed going to casinos, traveling to New Orleans for the Mardi Gras, playing the lottery, pulling tips, and watching NFL. She was a die-hard fan of The Atlanta Falcons. Win or lose.
She is preceded in death by her only son, Anthony L. Green, parents, Frank and Annie Mae Green; grandmother, Mattie B. Wilson; sister, Emma J. Rufus; brothers, William Elston Sr. and Robert L. Green; father figure, Walter Hill Sr.; uncles, Ernest Burgans and Edward Lee Greene Sr.; nephews, Gary, Melvin Jr., and Allen Green; niece, Raquel McBride; brother-in-law, Anthony L. Ashford; sisters-in-law, Esther Elston and Pearlie Mae Green.
She is survived by her siblings, Melvin, Shirley, Patricia, and Nathanial Green; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Green, Beverly Blakemore, and Doris Green; devoted special niece (daughter) Domonique (Justin) Duckett; devoted nieces, Cynthia Green, Dashun Green, Rhonda Faye Rufus, Fontella Jones; honorary sister, Maudell Foster; Friends, Emma Lee Jones and Melvin Bonds Sr.; devoted friend, Valerie Penn; close neighbors, Ms. Connie, Ms. Freeman; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and family.
A 3 p.m. memorial celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, 423 622-9995.
