The Covenant men's soccer team had its second test in conference play with Huntingdon coming to Scotland Yard. From the start, the Scots put it on the Hawks and cruised to a 5-0 win.
Covenant scored inside two minutes as a pass from the right side by Jackson Hinson that was flicked on by Luke Laughlin fell to Kade Theunissen who made no mistake. Less than two minutes later Whitt Tisdale had a header that bounced off the crossbar.
In the 11th minute, the Scots made it 2-0 as Tisdale had a shot deflected by a Huntingdon defender into the back of the net. Theunissen had the assist. Tyler Johnson had a pair of chances in the 26th and 27th minute with one shot missing out right and another well saved by the Hawks keeper.
At the half, Covenant had outshot Huntingdon 13-1.
In the 53rd minute, Tisdale bagged his second goal of the day, dribbling past the goalie on the left after Theunissen played him through on goal. Jackson Bostrom drew a penalty kick late in the game which allowed Henry Parker to convert the spot kick to make it 4-0. Bostrom then scored a goal of his own with a well-placed right-footed shot assisted by Isaiah Harper with less than a minute remaining.
