Julia Ann Bennett Davis, 78, of Chickamauga, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

She was born in Augusta, Ga., on Sept. 2, 1946. Julie grew up in Fort Oglethorpe, and graduated from Rossville High School Class of 1964. She was an active member of the Rossville High School Reunion Committee for her class, a 30 year plus member of Elizabeth Lee Methodist Church, and a member of the Elizabeth Lee MC Discipleship Class. She was also a member of the Hallmark Club, an avid seasonal decorator, had a passion for genealogy, enjoyed plants, nature, but most of all spending time with her family. She loved her family above all else. Her life was dedicated to preserving the memory of those who passed on before her, and caring for those who were with her in the present.

Her father, a band director, instilled in her from an early age a love for music and marching band. Julie served as a majorette mascot in his bands and went on to play the flute and encouraged a love for music in her children as well.

Julie will be greatly missed. She was a loving person who enjoyed giving to others and spreading her love and joy with all those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Florence Bennett; son, Denny Chandler, two brothers, Don and Jim Bennett; two sisters, Ethelda and Noema Bennett; cousin, Janice Stueckrath.

Those left to cherish her precious memory are her husband of 34 years, Gilbert Davis; children, Dana Chandler, Shaina (Tommy) Gross; Carissa Davis, and Lori Davis; eight grandchildren, Eve Scott, Jacob Chandler, Cora Gross, Emily Gross, Bryanna Cunningham, Caitlyn Cunningham, Equan Harris, and Elora Gilbert; nephew, Don Bennett; niece, Tara Bennett; best friend and sister-in-law, Nancy Shelton; cousins, Ann Sweesy, Mary Dopf; and several other extended family members and friends.
