Judy E. Griggs
Judy E. Griggs, 85, of Apison went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
Mrs. Griggs was a resident of Hamilton County for the past 64 years and was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.
She held membership at the Hamilton Place YMCA and always enjoyed the Silver Sneakers Group.
Mrs. Griggs was former owner and operator of the Chattanooga Barber College, Murfreesboro Barber College and the Chattanooga School of Cosmetology for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William W. (Just Bill) Griggs; parents, Harvey D. and Evelyn Lee; sisters, Shelby Lindsay, Virginia Weeks; and brother, Sonny Lee.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Mack) Stone, Apison and her second daughter, Anita (Roger) Moultrie Milstead, Knoxville; two grandchildren, Eddie M. (Jill) Stone and Andrea (Dean) Krech; three great-grandchildren, Garett Stone, Jackson Stone and Tyler Krech; two sisters, Nancy Ridings, Knoxville, and Alberta (David) Fleming, Corinth, Ms.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 4, at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the McKamey Animal Center, or Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.
