The Chattanooga Bocce Club held some fall tournaments. The first annual Chattanooga Bocce Club Doubles Tournament was held at the Outpost Restaurant. It concluded with an exciting final between the teams of Frank and Brian Knight versus Bill and Carolyn Caulkins. In the best of 3 matches the Caulkins team edged out the Knights 12-10 in the third game.

A few weeks later, the Chattanooga Bocce Club hosted the 21st Annual Calvanese Tournament at Coolidge Park. Once again the tournament was filled with top notch talent and tough competitors. Carl Ditto and Clarence Wickers faced each other in the finals. Carl entered the finals undefeated. After two matches Carl emerged as the winner of the 21st Annual Calvanese Tournament with a score of 12/11. Frank Knight placed third in the tournament.

All top three finishers were veterans - Coast Guard, United States Marine Corps, and United States Army. Indeed, this tournament was a battle for the ages.
