OFFICE OF THE CITY ATTORNEY

a. An ordinance to amend the Charter of the City of Chattanooga, and all acts, ordinances, and other Charter provisions amendatory thereof, pursuant to the provisions of Article XI, Section 9, of the Constitution of the State of Tennessee (Home Rule Amendment) so as to change the City Charter by deleting Charter Title Section 3.1.1 in its entirety so that employees are no longer required to be residents of the State of Tennessee and that the Clerk of the City Council shall certify the passage of this Ordinance to the Hamilton County Election Commission and request that the proposed amendment to the City Charter of the City of Chattanooga, Tennessee, be placed on the ballot to be used in the general state or municipal election to be held on or about March 4, 2025. A resolution extending the effective date of the new City of Chattanooga Zoning Ordinance (City Code Chapter 38) and extending the associated grace period originally established in Resolution No. 32246 with a new effective date of the Zoning Ordinance as of December 18, 2024, and the grace period ending on June 18, 2025.

A resolution authorizing the Chattanooga Police Department, along with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, to apply for, and if awarded, accept a FY2024 Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant, also known as the JAG Grant for the Department of Justice, to award CPD $113,662.00 for purchasing equipment and training, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will receive $48,711.00, for a grant period of October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2028, for a total amount not to exceed $162,373.00.
