Lamar M. (Mont) Evans, Sr., gained his wings on February 13, 2024.

Lamar was born on June 30, 1973, in Chattanooga. He attended Howard High School in the class of 1991.

Lamar was very outspoken. “To know Lamar is to love him and to love him is to know him.” He was a family man. He was big on family. He loved and cared about everyone who was around him. He was always in great spirits. You just smiled when he walked into a room because he always kept that handsome smile on his face no matter what. He loved his kids equally. Lamar lived his life; he didn’t let life live him.

Lamar was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil Evans, Eugene L. Evans, Sr., Jeanie Bell Clay; and mother, Ann Evans; grandson, Lamar Evans, III; granddaughter, La'Mayiah Evans; uncles, Eugene Evans and Gerald Evans; great-nephews, Willie Arnold, III, and Raphael “RJ” Jr.; great-niece, Royalty Allen.

Survivors include his children, Lamar Evans, Jr., Michelle Evans, Mercedes Evans, Keyora Bush, and Jordan Patterson; grandchildren, Bailee Evans, Kmari Evans, Lyric Evans, and Jordan Patterson; his father, Ransom Evans, Sr.; sister, Rosalind Cox (Harry); brother, Ransom Evans, Jr. (Tammy), Kevin Evans, Sr., and Randall Evans; nieces, Annyell Evans (Michael), and Roxann Evans; nephews, Quentil Moore (Beonca), Dakota Evans, Roman Evans, Tyler Partridge Keyon Evans, and Kevin Evans, Jr.; companion, Atremise Anderson; four aunts, two uncles, four great-nieces, four great-nephews; other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home.

A 1 p.m. funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 23, in the chapel of the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
