Juanita Lucille Dies was born on July 16, 1942, and went to her heavenly reward on February 12, 2024, after a lengthy illness.

Juanita was the daughter of Jerry D. and Louise (Schmidt) Shelton and sister of Sharon Shelton Purcell, all of whom were waiting for her in heaven.

Juanita graduated from Mt. St, Mary Catholic High School in 1960 and married the love of her life, Henry Michael Dies, on April 14, 1962. Together they raised two beautiful children and shared their life together for 62 years. They had been friends since the age of six.

Juanita was a devoted wife and mother. She loved gardening, home decorating, sewing and Christmas.

Juanita is survived by her husband, Mike of the home; daughter, Angela Bryant of the home; son, David, and wife Janelle; grandsons Gregory and wife, Mollie; and Gabriel Dies, all of Chattanooga; many other relatives and friends, including her best friend, Lois Genzer of Oklahoma City.

A memorial service will be held on Feb. 22, at 6 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn. 37412. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 4 p.m.
