Carroll, George David (Acworth)

George David Carroll, 88, of Acworth, Georgia, formerly of Dalton, Georgia, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Hubert and Katherine Carroll, and sisters, Vivian Carroll and Jayne Carroll.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Frances Carroll; children, Kim Norrell (Robert Willard) and Darren Carroll (Felicia Cagle); grandchildren, Zach Norrell, Connor Norrell, Sean Carroll, and Evelyn Carroll; and, sister, Ann McCrary. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Carroll served our country in the United States Army. He is a graduate of Coosa Valley Technical School with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He retired as an Eeectrical engineer from IBM. He loved to travel the world, enjoying many trips with his family. He took much delight in aviation and flying. He was a Boy Scout Leader from many years for Troop 62 at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Funeral services for George David Carroll will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Park Foundation (give.nationalparks.org).
