The Boys & Girls Clubs of Chattanooga held their annual Chattanooga Great Futures Awards Luncheon The Westin. Sponsored by UNUM, this annual event recognizes area Boys & Girls Clubs students who are making a difference in their communities.

Aaidyn Lawrence, a GPS freshman and member of the varsity basketball and softball teams, as well as G-Force, the school spirit club, was one of 12 nominees for the 2023 David Fussell Outstanding Leadership Award. This award comes with a $2,500 college scholarship.

There were 12 finalists for the award, all of whom received a Volunteer of the Month Award in 2023. Aaidyn was awarded Volunteer of the Month in July for her work and leadership with the younger children. A representative for The Boys & Girls Club said, “Aaidyn loves the kids, and they love her!” This summer will be her third as a volunteer.

Aaidyn didn’t take away the top award today, but we are incredibly proud of her nomination and the work she has done. She brings such a contagious kindness and humor to each day at GPS, and we are happy that her leadership and volunteer spirit are recognized everywhere!
