Michael Fowler Thomasson, 62, of Cleveland, left this world peacefully surrounded by his family, on Friday, March 1, 2024, to celebrate eternity with his Heavenly family and Savior.

Mike was born on July 15, 1961, in Cleveland.  He loved the Lord Jesus and attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Mike loved the mountains and enjoyed camping.  He was also known to his mountain community as Tom.  Mike lived off the grid in the mountains for many years and loved it every day.  He also loved motorcycle riding in his younger years.  Mike was gifted as an excellent mechanic and could repair anything.   He took pride in his garden produce every summer and shared it with family and neighbors.  Mike will always be remembered for his big and giving heart to all he met, and never hesitated to bring those in need into his house.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Fowler and Mary Lee Thomasson; maternal grandparents, Roy Lee and Dema Lawson; paternal grandparents, Arthur Albert and Mary Lou Thomasson.

Left to cherish the many memories include his sisters, Olivia (Colin) McLaurine, Vivian (Jeri) Donn, and Mary Ann (Gary) Bradshaw; brother, Douglas (Hiromi) Thomasson; loving companion, Kelli Colley; son, Tanner Thomasson; many loving nieces and nephews; and his four-legged loyal companion, Jack.

A Remembrance of Life graveside service will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, at Campground Cemetery with John Miles, Sr. presiding with Larry Thompson, Dwight Stevenson, Matthew Kyle, and William Gentry serving as pallbearers.   Honorary pallbearers will be Tanner Thomasson, Ben Donn, Noah Thomasson, Alex Rymer, and Nathan Rymer.

Family and friends will gather from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home.
