Roy Denney
Roy Cordell Denney, 79, of Hixson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
Roy was born in Nashville, on March 20, 1945. He graduated from East High Nashville in 1963 then attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville where he received his Electrical Engineering, BS. Following that he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. Roy was a long time member of the HUMC. He loved his job at TVA and retired after 40 years. Roy loved his family and enjoyed sailing, fishing, biking, gardening, camping and loved talking about science related technology. He was blessed with loving parents, family and friends who will greatly miss him, but we will see him again one day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cordell Willie Denney and Bertha Basham Denney, sisters, Katherine and Gladys and brother, William.
Roy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy VanDyke Denney, children, Kathy Vincent, Karen (Walter) Castleberry, Keith (Sandy) Denney, grandchildren, Katie Hartman, Mikayla Clayton, Matthew, Sarah and Caroline Castleberry and April Denney and great-grandchildren, Marci, Addison, Kason and Madison.

Visitation will be held at Hamilton Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 16, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. funeral service time. Burial will follow and be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
