Roy Cornelius Joseph, Jr., of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on August 28, 1948, to Roy Cornelius Joseph, Sr. and Lucille Fleming Joseph.
Roy was a longtime employee of the Chattanooga Public Works. He enjoyed being around his family.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Moses Joseph, Jr., Lessie Billups Joseph, Clarence L. Fleming, and Leona Bolton Fleming; sister, Phyllis Lucinda Joseph; stepmom, Ms. Mae West Joseph; daughter, Mary Manghane-Hill.
Roy leaves to cherish his memories, a lifelong companion, Ruby L. Jones; sons, Ricky (Pat) Joseph, Laymon (Shon) Joseph, Dontrell Jones; daughter, Gladys Evans; two sisters, Yolanda Joseph Neal of Sandwich, MA and Maudell Foster of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Maurice, DeWanda, LaTonya, Brittany, DeJuan, Camisha, Charles, LaJuan, Jarvarius, Chiquita, Tieria, Ricky, Jr., Corisha, JaJuan, Jaylon, Major, Chase, Aneshia; 44 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; uncles, aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Public viewing will be held from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, followed by a noon funeral service in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, Tn., 423 622-9995.
Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
