Looking for an impressive nonconference win, the Covenant men's tennis team hit the road to take on No. 2 Emory. However, the Eagles proved to be too much, winning all nine matches on Tuesday.
Final: Covenant 0, No. 2 Emory 9 In doubles, Ben Onufrock and Austin Dreslinski fell in the No. 1 slot to Ryan Glanville and Brandon Cohen 5-8.
In the No. 2 position, Solomon Crouch and Caleb Domkowski were narrowly defeated by Dean Kamenv and John Lasanajak 6-8 The Eagles earned the doubles sweep as Brock Boehling and Gill Dunn lost 1-8 to Samuel Dean and Christian Lew.
In singles matches, Onufrock dropped the No. 1 ranked match to Liew 2-6, 2-6. In the No. 2 position, Dreslinski took a 4-6, 1-6 loss to Emilio Van Cotthem. Domkowski fell short in the No. 3 position, dropping his match 2-6, 2-6 to Ryan Nash.
Crouch suffered a 3-6, 4-6 defeat to Lasanajak in the No. 4 slot.
In the No. 5 ranked match, Dunn was beaten by Robinson Luo, 1-6, 1-6.
Graham Hayes sent the final match to a tiebreak, but it wasn't enough to get the Scots a point as he fell 6-2, 5-7 (8-10) to Spencer Richards.
Covenant has a big conference match on Saturday at Piedmont.
