Jean Perry Jollay, 86, of Hixson, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on Nov. 25, 1937, to Clarence and Jewel Perry, Jean was a devoted woman of faith who cherished her relationship with the Lord. She raised her children in the church, ensuring they were present for every service. A long-time member of Hixson United Methodist Church, Jean previously attended White Oak United Methodist Church for most of her life. She was an enthusiastic sports fan, having played basketball and softball during her school years, and she continued her passion for sports by fervently supporting the UT Vols. Jean also enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Jollay; siblings, Vernon Perry, Annette Mills, and Jeanette Castleberry; and grandson, Corey Kirksey.

She is survived by her children, Tim (Amy) Jollay and Pam (Bobby) Walls, all of Soddy-Daisy; grandchildren, Daniel (Sara) Jollay, Jordan Walls, Brannon (fiancée, Emily Tess Pearson) Walls, Stratton (fiancée, Kenzie Manning) Walls and Pierson (girlfriend, Madelyn Tawzer) Walls; great-grandchild, Tinsley Corey Kirksey; siblings, Elsie Gallaher, Judy (Richard) Brown, and Ernie (Sandy) Perry; sister-in-law, Dorothy Creasman, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to their Hospice Nurse, Daniel Capshaw, and her caregivers, Cara DeFriese and Janice McGaffic.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, in the chapel of Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
