Kyle Dennis James, 37, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee passed away May 4, 2024.

Kyle was a 2004 graduate of Soddy Daisy High School. He started wrestling at the age of seven and from there he became a three-time Tennessee State Champion and a three time All American. After high school he was invited to train at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Co., for two years. From there he served our country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Dorothy “Dot” Maye and Virginia Ritchey; grandfather, Bobby Ray James; uncle, Bobby Ray James, Jr. and his brother, Stoney Taylor.

Kyle is survived by his mother, Angela (Cindy Taylor) James; father, Dennis James; sister, Heather (Jason) James; grandfathers, Gene Maye and Freddy Ritchey; grandmother, Georgia James; nieces, Emilee, Alexis and Addison James along with several aunt, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 9. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Jeff Gann, his uncle, Kevin James, his grandfather, Gene Maye and Shane Turner speaking. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park.
