Edward Milton Lewis
Edward Milton Lewis was born on May 26, 1965, in Memphis, Tennessee, to William Douglas and Patricia L. Brown. He transitioned at the age of 59 into heavenly rest on June 11, 2024, at a local health care facility in Chattanooga.
Regarded as a beautiful soul with a big heart, Edward was full of life and brought much joy and laughter into the lives of those who loved and knew him best. Going to the beach, amusement parks, taking road trips to football games, grilling, catering, bowling, watching his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers, exemplified his zeal for life and living life to the fullest.
Edward was a 1983 graduate of Kirkman Technical High School.
Edward was employed at Martin Boyd Christian Home in Chattanooga, as the assistant director of Dining Services for several years. Loved by his work family at Martin Boyd, he was dedicated to serving the residents and making delicious meals enjoyed by both residents and staff. Edward joined the New Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, becoming a dedicated member and devoting his life to Christ. Although he was always on the go, Edward never missed a moment to spend precious, quality time with his beloved family and friends.
Edward was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Willie Pearl Lewis; sister, Cherry Evans; and uncle, Herman Brown.
Edward leaves to cherish his many memories his mother, Patricia L. Brown; spouse, Catrina Meadows; daughter, Nakesha Meadows; son, Christopher Meadows; brothers, Frank (Trina) Lovingood, Devotis (Kim) Lovingood, and Richard “Lebron” (Linda) Lovingood all of Chattanooga, TN; great aunt, Mary Kennard; and special nephew, Little Richard Lovingood Jr.; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other cherished relatives. Edward also leaves to cherish his memory dear friends, Tongeia “Toni” Farmer, Antonio (Rachel) Burgess, Tyrone (Rachel) Mathis, Walter (Kathy) Lindsey Jr., Patricia Burnett, Emily Taylor, and his entire work family at Martin Boyd Christian Home.
Public viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until noon on Friday, June 21, at the funeral home followed by a 1 p.m. graveside service at Forest Hills Cemetery.
