Loved Her Family, God, Helping Others, And Time At The Beach

Linda L. Shrader, 81, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga where she was a 1961 graduate of City High School. In the late 1970s she graduated cum laude from UTC with a bachelor’s degree in political science. For many years Linda was the owner and operator of American Mediation Agency in Chattanooga. She was a counselor for the 700 Club, an adult leader for the Teenage Republicans in the 1980s under Ronald Reagan, and she ran for Tennessee state representative in the 1980s. Linda retired in 2016 from Tennessee Department of Family and Children's Services with over 10 years of service. Linda loved her family, God, helping others, and spending time at the beach.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. and Jessie B. Lucas; and brother, Tony Lucas.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Angela Shrader; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Shrader, Jessica Spurgeon, Julia Shrader, and Samantha Shrader; five great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Noah, Roman, Riley, and Baylee; and cousin, Paul Shelton.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 21, at 10 a.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery, Chattanooga.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
