Donald William Chattin, 89, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, June 20, 2024.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mr. Chattin retired from EPB after more than 25 years of service.

He attended Morris Hill Baptist Church and held membership with the East Lake Masonic Lodge #698 F & AM.

He was an avid bowler, golfer, fisherman, and relic hunter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Chattin; brother, James Chattin; and sister, Evelyn Allen.

He is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Mark) Walters, Chattanooga; son, Steve (Heather DeFoor)Chattin, Ringgold; sister, Ann Chattin, Chattanooga; three grandchildren, Matthew Chattin, Colby Chattin, and Tiffany Watkins; several great-grandchildren; longtime companion, Sylvia Routh; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Monday, June 24, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Royce Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Mr. Chattin’s caregivers- his great niece, Lexi Updike, Sylvia Routh, Kristi Gibson, Carol Workman, Carolyn Hall, Cara Steele, and niece, Terry Davis who preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 23, from 4-6 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
