Bohr Electronics Secures Large Order For RTK Base Stations

  • Thursday, June 27, 2024

Bohr Electronics, a provider of locomotive electrical parts and systems, has announced an order for 40 RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) base stations from a major rail operator, with plans to expand to another 160 to 180 units over the next 18 months.

The RTK base stations will be deployed across various locations, enhancing operational accuracy and efficiency. The installation process is expected to begin in the third quarter of this year.

An essential component in advanced positioning systems, RTK base stations improve the accuracy of GPS signals used in various rail applications. This technology supports precise, GIS survey-grade location tracking and operational efficiency, which are critical for modern rail operations.

"We are pleased to announce this important order," said Dillon Steen, New Business Development-Freight for Bohr Electronics. "Our RTK base stations are designed to meet the rigorous demands of the rail industry, and this order underscores Bohr Electronics’ capability to provide robust solutions that improve rail infrastructure."
