Vols Headed To Omaha After Swatting 7 Home Runs In 12-1 Win Over Evansville

The Tennessee Vols are headed to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., after swatting six home runs to down Evansville,12-1.

The upstart Purple Aces had a come-from-behind victory on Saturday to force the Sunday night rubber match.

Christian Moore homered in the first, then Dean Curley and Dalton Bargo went deep back to back.

Moore and Bargo homered later in the game, as did Billy Amick in the fourth and Cal Stark in the fifth.

Tennessee outhit Evansville 12-6 on the night before a sold-out crowd in Knoxville.

Zander Sechrist pitched into the sixth inning, then four relievers helped squelch the Evansville bats that were so active on Saturday.
