U.S. Marine Veteran Worked In Electrical Supply Sales For Over 35 Years

Charles David Cooper, known to relatives as “Sonny,” passed away peacefully at his home on June 26, 2024, at the age of 78.

David was a graduate of Rossville High School, class of 1964, and proudly served his country as a Marine in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud Cooper and Louise Cooper Hadden, his sisters, Imogene Cooper and Elaine Ratcliff, and his brother, Rickey Cooper.

David is survived by his loving daughter, Kelly Marissa Cooper, and his grand cat, Gibson. He also leaves behind his sisters, Connie Bundy and Pat Rogers, his dear friend and cousin, Ron Payne, many other cousins, extended family members, friends who loved him dearly, and his girlfriend, Beth McCollum.

Born in Sand Mountain, Ga., David worked in electrical supply sales with various companies in Chattanooga for over 35 years.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his honor to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the U.S. National Park Service Foundation.

The family would like to extend a special thank you and gratitude to the nurses, to Hearth Hospice, and caregivers for their kindness and compassion.

Burial will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday, July 15, at 1 p.m.
