The St. Andrew's-Sewanee volleyball team defeated South Pittsburg Monday night by a score of 3-0 (25-20, 25-14,25-19).
St. Andrew’s-Sewanee has split their last 4 matches starting with a District win vs Grace Academy and then a tough loss at home vs Marion County as well as on the road vs Collegedale Academy before returning to the win column, Monday, vs South Pittsburgh. Both of their wins have come in 3 straight sets. SAS returns home Tuesday to face Grundy County and travels to Notre Dame, Thursday, for a District Match.
Highlights from the South Pittsburg game: Emilie Leathers 12 kills, 3 aces, 4 blocks; Ivy Moser 3 aces; five kills; Charley Buckner 5 aces, 9 kills, 6 digs; Aubrey Blosser 16 assists, 5 aces; Savannah Blosser 5 assists, 1 Dig.
According to head coach Rob Zeitler, “It has been great watching this team of three returning seniors mix so well with our underclassman. The chemistry between the setters and hitters is really starting to come together in the homestretch of our season.”
