Gene Edwards
Gene (Mr. Smooth) Edwards went to heaven on September 19, 2024. No more pulmonary fibrosis.
He was born to the late Bernice Day and Russell Edwards. Sr. in DeKalb County, Al. on March 7, 1943.
His brother, Russell Edwards Jr. preceded him in death.
He attended Sand Rock High School. He worked for Dixie Yarns and later for Zellweger Uster for 32 years. He loved playing guitar with several groups - gospel, western swing and county,
He is survived by his wife, Faye, who he married Dec. 27, 1961; son, Bobby (Alisa), and granddaughter, Whitley.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 22, for 4-7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow the service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
