Alan Mallach
Chattanooga Design Studio announces Alan Mallach at the CIVIQ stage this Thursday at the Chattanooga Public Library Downtown Branch. The speaker series, held quarterly, features national and international movements in urban design.

Mr. Mallach is a city planner, advocate and writer, who is known for his work on housing, economic development and urban revitalization. He has spoken on housing and urban issues in the United States, Europe, Israel and Japan. Much of his research is focused on poverty and prosperity and how local government and community organizations can better balance revival.
Mr. Mallach will use national and local examples to suggest ways Chattanooga can spread the benefits of growth without increasing the gap between poverty and prosperity.

Mr. Mallach is a non-resident fellow at the Center for Community Progress and a member of the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners. Copies of two of his books on housing, planning and cities, "The Divided City" and "Smaller Cities in a Shrinking World," will be available for purchase with a signing to follow.

CIVIQ registration is free and all are welcome though registration is strongly encouraged at
