Rebecca Kay Williams, 81, passed away on September 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Rebecca was born January 10, 1943, in Carthage, Tx., to K. Troy and Thelma Harkrider and was raised with her two younger brothers, Kent and Tim Harkrider. She attended Carthage High School, class of 1961, North Texas State University, and the University of Houston and obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she studied performance. She performed in the UTC Opera Theater and Opera Workshop, the UTC Chamber Singers, the Chattanooga Chorale, the Chattanooga Opera Chorus and the Chattanooga Bach Choir.

She married David R. Williams in March, 1967 and moved to Chattanooga where she raised her son, Kevin (Liz) Williams and daughter Jennifer (Rob) Malone. She was blessed to be the much -oved “Nana” to her grandson, Williams (Will) Malone.

She was active in her church, Grace Episcopal Church, and loved to sing in the choir with her many friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Rebecca’s honor to Grace Episcopal Church, 20 Belvoir Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37411.
