The Chattanooga Area Food Bank announces the annual Chattanooga Skillet Curling Championship, set to take place at Ice on the Landing at First Horizon Pavilion over three days. This free event invites the public to join in the fun and cheer on local teams as they compete on the ice for a worthy cause.
Kicking off on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 6 p.m., the event will feature 33 teams from across the city, all eager to showcase their skills in a spirited skillet-slinging competition.
During the competition, teams will be vying not only for victory on the ice but also for the chance to raise the most funds for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. Proceeds will directly benefit the organization, helping to provide food assistance to families facing food insecurity in their 20-county service are in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia.
While the rink will be reserved for curling during competition hours, spectators can enjoy public ice skating before or after matches, making it a full day of winter fun for families and friends. The curling matches will take place on Jan. 30 from 6-10 p.m. and on Feb. 1 and 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
