Aria Hawkins set a Lee record and joined two other Lady Flames in claiming five NCAA Division II Provisional marks Friday and Saturday at the Vanderbilt Invitational. The indoor track & field meet was held at the David Williams II Recreational & Wellness Center on the campus of Vanderbilt University.
Hawkins placed fourth in the Mile with a time of 4:41.36. The time not only met the Provisional standard of 4:55.64 it also eclipsed the program record of 4:44.95 that was set by Celine Ritter on January 23, 2021, at the Samford Open.
Hawkins also met the standard of 2:13.89 in the 800-meter Run. She placed 15th with a time of 2:13.13.
Liz Lannom joined Hawkins in meeting two provisional standards. She scored 3,310 points to place sixth in the Pentathlon. Her point total was 16 points beyond the total needed to hit the standard of 3,294. Her 1.70 meter performance in the High Jump as part of the Pentathlon was better than the 1.67 meter requirement.
Ana Patricia Campos was 18th in the 3000-meter Run where she finished at 9:46.26, nearly seven seconds ahead of the provisional mark of 9:53.07.
Ane Peasley and Jydia Faucette were Lee’s representatives in the 60-meter Dash. Peasley was 58th at 8.01 seconds and Faucette’s time of 8.36 was good for 68th. Maddox Mayfield placed 52nd in the 200-meter Dash after crossing the finish line in 26.20 seconds. Peasley (27.14) was 61st and Faucette (27.18) was 62nd.
Mayfield finished the 400-meter at 58.24 seconds (23rd) and Lily Brown finished 48th (1:01.27). Peasley finished 24th in the 60-meter Hurdles after crossing the line at 8.96 seconds. Brown (9.33) was 37th in the event.
Abi Moore posted a 24th-place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:15.76. Joining Hawkins in the Mile were Katie Beam and Kaylee Estridge. Beam placed 24th (4:59.41) and Estridge (5:13.99) was 49th.
Ashlyn Iliff and Emily Liddle were a part of the 3000 with Campos. Iliff stopped the clock at 10:23.53 for 40th. Liddle was 54th with a time of 10:48.94. In the 5000-meter Run, Megan Adams was seventh with a time of 17:21.06 and Katie Krueger was 15th at 17:55.18.
In the unseeded Long Jump competition, Faucette covered 5.18 meters for 14th. Sydney White joined Lannom in the Pentathlon and amassed 3,190 points to finish eighth.
Samara Brinks and Graice Waite were 14th and 24th in the Weight Throw Open. Brinks recorded a throw of 15.05 meters and Waite recorded a mark of 12.47 meters. The duo also competed in the Shot Put Open. Brinks was 18th with a throw of 11.64 meters. Waite posted a measurement of 10.85 meters for 22nd and Olivia Davidson was close behind in 24th with a throw of 10.26 meters.
The Lady Flames are set to return to action with two meets the weekend of January 31-February 2. Lee is set to compete in Boston on January 31 at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, followed by the South Alabama Indoor Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama, on February 2.
