Chattanooga native and Tennessee Tech student Emma Parson
Tennessee Tech University will host its annual Spring Showcase event on Saturday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, March 1, welcoming newly admitted students to campus for an exclusive opportunity to explore their future home.
Among the dedicated students helping make the event a success is Emma Parson, a business management and marketing major from Chattanooga, whose own journey to Tech started by attending Spring Showcase.
“Spring Showcase is such an exciting time,” said Ms. Parson.
“I originally attended as a high school senior, and it was the event that made me truly excited to come to Tech.”
Spring Showcase runs from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on both Saturdays, with main sessions taking place in the Roaden University Center. Admitted students will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and current students, get their questions answered and experience hands-on activities within their chosen majors.
“Now, I have the chance to answer students’ concerns and help them see how they can fit in here,” Ms. Parson said.
A sample itinerary for the event includes college introductions, breakout sessions, lunch and a “Living Wings Up” session hosted by the Division of Student Affairs.
Ms. Parson emphasizes the importance of coming to Spring Showcase to help new students visualize their life at Tech.
“I love walking students around campus and showing what life would actually look like here,” she said. “Spring Showcase is more than just a campus tour, it’s an immersive experience that allows students to engage with their chosen major and get a real feel for what their time at Tech will be like.”
Admitted students can register for either Spring Showcase by visiting www.tntech.edu/springshowcase.
