Alvie “Al” Delmas Chapman, 91, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025.

He was born in Giles County, Tn., on Oct. 15,1933, to the late Alvie Ewing Chapman and Cordie Elsie Norwood Chapman. He attended Bodenham High School in Giles County and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church. Al was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and worked a few years for American Electric following his service time. He was the owner/operator of Al’s Pawn Shop on Rossville Boulevard, and he also worked as an independent broker of precious metals for many more years until his retirement.

He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and family, traveling, boating; but most of all, spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his sister, Rena Chapman.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Marlene (Jerry) Johnson; daughter, Teresa (Jim) Fulwiler; fiancé, Sue Baxter; three grandchildren, Yahna (Logan) Latham, Shawn (Vanessa) Edmondson, and Malisha (Eric) Collins; four great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at Lane Funeral Home South Crest Chapel on Sunday, Feb. 9, from 1–3 p.m.

A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel Sunday at 3 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. CST on Monday, Feb. 10, at Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1–2 p.m. in the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church at 2689 Pleasant Ridge Road, Goodspring, Tn. 38460.
