Braidech, Engle Earn SoCon Golfer Of The Week Awards

Chattanooga’s Camden Braidech and Garrett Engle have been selected as the Southern Conference Men’s Golfers of the Week for all competition from March 5-11. The selection is made by the league office.
 
The two golfers shared medalist honors alongside George Mason’s Samir Davidov at the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate in Southern Pines, North Carolina, which wrapped play on Tuesday. Braidech, a sophomore from Scottsdale, Arizona, posted rounds of 70-72-67, while Engle, a senior from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, shot rounds of 70-70-69, with each golfer completing the tournament with a score of 209 (-7).
During the tournament, Braidech recorded 12 birdies en route to a season-best score of 209. Engle, who recorded his first career win and best 54-hole score, had 15 birdies in the event.

 

Chattanooga won the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate with a tournament score of 839 (-25) in a field of 20 teams and 97 golfers. The Mocs shot 284 in the first round, 285 in the second round and 270 in the final round. Chattanooga, who got its third team win of the season, won the tournament by 23 strokes.

 

The Mocs will play their next tournament at the Hoosier Invite in Bloomington, Indiana, on April 5-6.
