Bruce B. Goodwin
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce B. Goodwin on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
He was born on April 7, 1938, in Black Fox, TN to Jody L. and Mona (Bullington) Goodwin. He graduated from Bradley Central High School in Cleveland, Tn., and earned a diploma in architectural drafting from Chicago Technical College in Chicago, Il.
Bruce was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church. He served on the board of trustees and was a member of the McFerrin Sunday School class. He lived most of his life in the Chattanooga area and was the owner of Bruce Goodwin Inc. He was a 60-year member of Cleveland Lodge 134 F & AM where he rose to the degree of Master Mason. He was a 50-year member of the Alhambra Shrine A.A.O.M.S Chattanooga, and a member of the Highlanders. He was a 50-year member of The Right Eminent Grand Commandery Knights Templar Of Tennessee. Bruce served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
The family wishes to extend much gratitude to Dr. Greg Nieckula, whom Bruce considered a special friend, Burt Schaerer and family, and his fellow nobles at the Red Fez Shrine Club, who added so much joy to his life.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Jody and Mona (Bullington) Goodwin, brother, Eddy Goodwin; and sisters Evelyn Smith and Pat Elliott.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Susan Kirkland Goodwin; sister-in-law, Sandra King (Walt); sister-in-law, Anne Brown; brother-in-law, Sam Kirkland; brother-in-law, Mike (Kelly) Kirkland; and several nieces and nephews.
Bruce was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying trips to Venice, LA and Tellico Plains with his buddies.
A Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 22, at 10 a.m. at Chattanooga Memorial Park (Duck Pond/White Oak).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that donations be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or the Brainerd Food Pantry at Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37411 or the charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
