Chattanooga junior transfer Stella Henry set an outdoor track and field personal record in the triple jump while Brooke Tyll and Andrea Ellis broke Lee Invitational records in their first 10,000 meter run.
Henry, one year removed from a softball career at Kennesaw State, jumped 11.26 meters (36-11.5), matching her indoor personal best in the triple jump. She hit the distance on her fifth jump of the day.
In the final event of the day, the Mocs dominated the field in the 10,000 meter run. Brooke Tyll took first with a time of 37:09.89 and Andrea Ellis was second at 37:12.78 in the first run at the longer distance for both. The duo broke the Lee Invitational record set last year by Lee’s Katie Krueger at 37:48.69.
Freshman Emma Thweatt was fourth at 38:21.37 and Michaela Dabney placed sixth with a time of 38:52.46. It was also the first 10,000 meter for both Thweatt and Dabney.
Ryleigh Simmons placed fourth in the women’s 200 meter dash with a personal best time of 25.40. Taylor Crawford ran a 2:27.22 in the women’s 800 meter, placing 15th overall.
The Mocs return to action Saturday morning with the women’s 5000 meter at 9:45 a.m. followed by the men’s 5000 meter.
