John R. Rodman, 81, passed away in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on March 17, 2025.

He was the eldest of five children born to Jack and Mary Rodman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Marcie R. Lawley and Carolyn R. Schweers; brothers-in-law, Fred Hixon and Fred Schweers.

Surviving family are his sisters, Katie R. Bonecutter (Gary) and Miriam R. Humphreys (Dale), children, John R. Rodman III (April) and Ashley Rodman; grandchildren, McKayla, Alicia, Chandler and Michael Rodman, Julian and McKenzi Rodman; several nieces and nephews.

John graduated from Baylor Academy in Chattanooga, attended the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and received an engineer degree from University of Chattanooga. John worked most of his life in Chattanooga in marketing and sales, but also in South Carolina, as well as overseas in China.

There will be no formal service with a private burial later.
