James Lettner

James Lettner, 80, passed away on March 26, 2025. He was born in Rockwood, Tennessee, on July 12, 1944, to William Mitchell and Reba Williams.

A lifelong resident of the area, James was a skilled pipefitter by trade, but he was best known for his playful nature and sense of humor, always keeping those around him entertained with pranks and laughter.

James was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Peggy Sue Lettner, and his sisters, Ester Williams and Betty Rose.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Troy Lettner, Scott (Pam) Lettner, Johnny Lettner, and Christel Lovelady; his grandchildren, Matt (Bailey) Lettner, Brittany Lovelady, Zoey Lettner, and Jasper Lettner; and his great-grandchildren, Cooper and Tucker Lettner, Kaiden Lettner, and Nova Lovelady. He is also survived by his sister, Teresa Mitchell; his brother, Michael Williams; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home on Friday, March 28, at 4 p.m., with Rev. Frank Wright officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

Coulter Garrison Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
