Two Big Innings Lead Lookouts To 8-6 Victory

The Lookouts used a five run second inning and a three run fifth to knock off the Rocket City Trash Pandas by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday night in front of the home crowd. After a rough start to the second half the Lookouts have now won five of their last seven games for an overall record of 44-34 on the season.

Dominic Pitelli got the scoring started with a two run single bringing home Joe Redfield and Jay Allen II. Hector Rodriguez followed Pitelli with his twelfth homerun. Cam Collier drove in the fifth run of the inning with a single scoring Edwin Arroyo. 

The Trash Pandas came back with a three run fourth and a run in the fifth to make it 5-4. In the bottom of the fifth Jay Allen II brought in two more with a single to right field. Ethan O'Donnell later scored Cam Collier with a single to increase the lead to 8-4. 

Lookouts starting pitcher Ryan Cardona pitched five innings allowing four runs on three hits to earn his fifth win of the season. Trevor Kuncl closed it out with another dominating ninth inning striking out two of the three hitters he faced for his eleventh save on the season. His earned run average now sits at 1.33. 

Chattanooga sits at a half game out of first place in the second half standings. They'll be back in action against the Trash Pandas on Wednesday night at 7:15 p.m.
