Deborah Marie Moore McLachlan
Deborah Marie Moore McLachlan, 73, of, Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Alex G. and June C. Moore, and she was preceded in death by grandson, Caleb Pierce.
An all-star basketball player, she was voted the most athletic female in her Senior Class at Tyner High School. Deborah worked as an educator for many years before retiring from Cleveland State Community College. With an adventurous spirit, she loved to snow ski. She flew in hot air balloons, traveled the country, lived in France, and even went hang gliding on her 70th birthday. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and rescue dog mom. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Robert James McLachlan, Jr., of Chattanooga, daughters, Heather M. (John C.) Jenkinson, of Knoxville, Allison (Ross) Elia, of Ringgold, step-daughters, Anne (Jared) Butler, of Apison, Kaki (Julia) McLachlan, of Fairfax, Ca., Taylor (Sam) Shapero of Atlanta, 12 grandchildren, one brother, Donald G. (Jeana Fleitz) Moore, of Louisville, Ky., and niece, Lynn Kropp of Lombard, Il.
To celebrate her remarkable life, we will gather at Ooltewah United Methodist Church, 6131 Relocation Way, Ooltewah, Tn. 37363, on Friday, March 14, 2025, for a ceremony at 4 p.m,, and a reception to follow where friends and family are invited to share their own memories and stories of from her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to one of Deb’s favorite organizations: The American Diabetes Association or McKamey Animal Center.
