Cempa Community Care added Kaylee Ann Saunders, FNP-C, to its medical staff as the organization’s new Advanced Practice Provider. In this role, Ms. Saunders will deliver a wide range of medical care to Cempa clients, as well as work alongside Cempa medical team leadership to uphold the organization’s mission, vision, goals, budget and performance standards, officials said.

A longtime Chattanooga resident, Ms. Saunders earned both her master’s and bachelor’s degrees at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and brings 10 years of nursing experience to the Cempa team.

Prior to joining the team at Cempa, Ms.
Saunders worked to provide health and wellness services to unhoused community members through the Hamilton County Homeless Healthcare Center. During her time as a family nurse practitioner student at UTC, Ms. Saunders gained a wide range of experience through rotations in varying specialties at both Erlanger and Memorial hospitals, as well as with community and individual providers.

“I am passionate about patient advocacy and delivering evidence-based care to my patients,” Ms. Saunders said. “As a community health provider, Cempa prioritizes caring for some of our city’s most historically marginalized communities. I look forward to helping uphold Cempa’s strong reputation and having the chance to improve patients’ lives."

“Our mission here at Cempa is to champion healthy communities by providing affordable, compassionate, and high-quality care,” said Dr. Shannon Burger, CEO of Cempa. “Kaylee Ann has a demonstrated history of providing exceptional care, and I have no doubt her work will have a positive impact on our organization.”
