Five Run Inning Gives Lookouts Win Over Smokies

  • Friday, April 18, 2025

The Chattanooga Lookouts overcame an early four run second inning from the Knoxville Smokies with a five run fourth inning of their own. It turns out those were the only two half innings resulting in a score from either side for a final of 5-4 in the Lookouts favor, their second victory in a row over the Smokies.

Five straight hitters reached and scored in the deciding frame for Chattanooga. Third baseman Sal Stewart played a part in that inning and finished the game 2-4. He is now hitting .349 on the season. Left fielder Jay Allen contributed two RBIs in the game and now has seven on the year.

Starter Jose Acuna received the win on the mound for the Lookouts despite giving up the four run inning. Acuna struck out ten batters on the evening. Trevor Kuncl tossed a scoreless ninth to collect his first save.

Chattanooga is back in action in Knoxville Friday night trying to stretch their winning streak to three games.
