Phillip "Matt" Matthew Lanier
Phillip "Matt" Matthew Lanier passed away on April 15, 2025, at his home in Hixson, Tennessee.
Matt was born in Chattanooga, on March 29,1978. Matt attended Hixson High School and UTC. Matt was an Eagle Scout and lover of nature. His passion for Jesus was known by everyone. He never met a stranger and was the first to help provide for anyone in need. He enjoyed being outside, camping, hiking, fishing, gardening, spending time with family and friends, and most of all playing with his little girls.
He is survived by his parents, Phillip Christoper Lanier and Janice Simmons Lanier; his wife, Blair Lanier and children, Jewel Faith Lanier and Callie Grace Lanier; uncle, Jack Simmons (Susan) and aunt, Kitty (Mitchell) Bryant, as well as cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Phillip Odell Lanier and Vallie Christine Lanier and James William Simmons and Willene Simmons.
Matt was full of life and energy and a drive to share about Jesus.
Matt's memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, at 4 p.m. at Williamson and Sons funeral home in Soddy Daisy.
Isaiah 40:31: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
